Date: Wednesday 22 June 2005, 09:30-17:00
Venue: Poortgebouw, Rijnsburgerweg 10, Leiden (5 minutes from Leiden CS)
On 22 June 2005 the African Studies Centre (ASC), in cooperation with the
Development Policy Review Network (DPRN), is organizing the first of three
“East Africa Days” to be held in Leiden. On this day we will discuss topical
policy-related matters, recent publications and regional research projects.
We hope to attract policymakers, those working for NGOs, researchers and
journalists and anyone else involved in development issues in Kenya,
Tanzania and Uganda.
Over the next three years, and as part of a wider programme of expert
meetings on regional developments in developing countries, the ASC and DPRN
intend to organize annual one-day conferences on each of the following
regions in Africa – East Africa, West Africa and the Horn of Africa.
The final programme for this year’s East Africa Day has been drawn up:

In addition to arranging these regional meetings, the DPRN is planning to
set up a database of researchers, journalists and those working for NGOs in
the Netherlands. As soon as the database form will be ready, we will make it
available on our website.
