General introduction to the series

This series is the result of an agreement between the African Studies Centre and the Langaa Research
and Publishing Common Initiative Group in Cameroon. The aim of the series is (1) to publish book
manuscripts of both African and non-African scholars and (2) to reduce the gap between African
and non-African publishing.
To ensure the academic quality, all books in this series are subject to double-blind peer review.
