Distributed Africana Repositories Community

DARC is an initiative of the African Studies Centre (ASC) in Leiden to make Africanist research material and information accessible through a community portal on the Internet.

Connecting-Africa, the pilot service for African Studies in the Netherlands, is online as of April 2004.

Projects

DARC activities and development of Connecting-Africa take place in stages and by means of externally funded projects.

DARC has successfully applied for grants from the SURF Foundation, in response to Calls for Tender of the DARE Programme (Digital Academic REpositories).
