Memorandum of Understanding ASC-CODESRIA
An ASC delegation signed a Memorandum of Understanding
in Dakar with CODESRIA, the Council for the Development of Social Science
Research in Africa, at the beginning of May 2005.
The partnership aims to promote understanding and goodwill among scholars in
general, and within the field of African Studies in particular, in an
attempt to strengthen scientific ties and broaden the horizons of
researchers, students and policy-makers. The partnership has identified the
following areas of cooperation: research agenda for African studies;
research and training projects; library, documentation and ICT; publications
and the dissemination of research results; awards for MA and PhD theses in
African studies; the organization of conferences, symposia, seminars and
