Rules and regulations concerning the borrowing of films on video or
DVD from the ASC
library
Films may only be borrowed for educational purposes (lectures, showing
to private groups).
Films may be watched/previewed on a special viewer in the ASC library.
If an appointment is made in advance with the audiovisual department, it may
be possible to watch the film in a larger room in the basement.
Films are only lent to borrowers registered with the ASC library.
Borrowers must fill in and sign a special declaration.
Films must be collected in person from the ASC library. In exceptional
circumstances a film may be mailed to an address in the Netherlands and the
special declaration must be filled in and sent back by return of post. All
costs incurred in mailing a film will be charged to the borrower.
The costs for borrowing a video are:
- € 2,- per film for individuals;
- € 10,- per film for organizations.
Payment by cash only!
The normal loan period is one week. A reminder will be sent after three
weeks if the film has not been returned. It is not possible to extend the
loan period.
If a film is not returned on time or is damaged or lost, all costs
involved in its replacement, including administrative charges of a minimum
of € 15,- will be billed to the borrower. A fine will also be imposed. The
total is likely to amount to at least € 68,- per film.
In cases of dispute or matters not covered here, a final decision will be
made by the head of department or her representative.
